Tower Garden Basil:

Basil (a.k.a the king of herbs) is one of the most prolific, plentiful, and bountiful herbs to grow on a Tower Garden. Basil requires minimal effort to grow and to manage.

Basil belongs to the mint family, together with oregano, rosemary, and lavender. Evidence from scientific research conducted on basil suggests that basil features powerful antimicrobial, antioxidant, antiviral, and anticancer properties, as well as a great source of vitamin A, vitamin K, copper, vitamin C; calcium, folate, iron, magnesium and omega-3 unsaturated fats.

Harvesting Basil from a Tower Garden:

Basil You can harvest basil continuously cutting branches as you need them. Basil is bountiful and abundant herb plant that keeps on giving you new leaves and branches as you harvest them. Once your plant has reached 8 leaves, this is the ideal time to start harvest in order to stimulate the plant’s growth and strength. Keep cutting the leaves at the lower base of the stems or half way between the lower pair of leaves and the growing tip. This will stimulate new branch growth in different directions.

Nufar Basil Seedlings: This high-yielding variety has large, flavor-packed leaves, and is ideal for blending up a batch of pesto. This is an absolute “must” to include on your aeroponic tower for any Tower Garden owner. Nufar Basil is an open pollinated variety with an annual life cycle. This is a classic basil variety that has leaves that grow up to four inches in length. Nufar basil has an pleasant sweet scent that makes it highly distinctive from other basil varieties.

Thai Basil Seedlings: This variety of basil originates from Southeast Asia and had a highly distinguishable flavor that is guaranteed to make an impressionable memory for any basil lover. This variety of basil has hints of anise, licorice, and is a little bit spicy. This variety of basil is used a lot in cooking under hot temperatures since Thai basil has a high resistance to hot cooking temperatures. Thai basil is must for anybody looking to had some unique variation in your herbs on your Tower Garden.

Purple Basil Seedlings: Purple basil has a wide range of culinary applications including purple basil pesto, fresh in the salads, or cooked. The increased presence of a power antioxidant called ‘anthocyanin’ is the cause for the purple color in purple-basil. Anthocyanin is also found in blueberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, eggplants, red cabbage, etc. As many scientific research paper suggests; anthocyanin has shown to have a wide array of health benefits.
